Through the Livelihoods and Microfinance Project, we successfully profiled and strengthened 45 Village Savings and Loan Association (VSLA) groups across Kaabong and Kotido. This has provided a strong foundation for financial literacy, enabling women to save, access micro-credit, and start small businesses.
To diversify incomes, 180 community members were trained in modern apiary management. Coupled with the distribution of apiary starter kits, beneficiaries have successfully established viable, eco-friendly income-generating enterprises that also promote environmental conservation.
Despite prolonged dry weather, we supported 26 farmer groups with land ploughing and distributed over 2,666 kgs of improved seeds. By introducing short-cycle vegetable growing as a complementary strategy, households have strengthened their food security and nutrition.
